Terms of Service

1. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and authorised by your church or district to manage its records. You are responsible for keeping your password and login codes private and for everything done under your account.

Creating a church on Ghala makes you its first administrator. Requests to join an existing church or district are reviewed and approved by that unit's administrators, not by Ghala.

2. Your data and your church's data

Member records, offerings, expenses and other content you enter belong to your church or district. You grant Ghala only the rights needed to store, process, back up and display that content to the people your church authorises.

You are responsible for having the right to enter personal information about members and for keeping it accurate. Do not upload content you are not entitled to share.

3. Plans, trials and payment

New churches start on a free trial of a paid plan and then continue on the free Manna plan unless a subscription is purchased. Paid plans are billed per church or per district for the period chosen at checkout and are activated once the payment provider confirms the payment.

Prices are shown in Tanzanian Shillings and are set according to the size of the unit at the time of purchase. Payments are processed by Snippe; Ghala does not see or store your mobile-money PIN or card details.

When a paid period ends without renewal the unit keeps its features for a short grace period, then returns to the free plan. Your data is never deleted because a plan lapses.

Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or where a duplicate charge was made in error.

4. Messages

Ghala sends SMS messages for login codes, onboarding and billing notices, and optional confirmations to church members. Each plan includes a monthly SMS allowance; member confirmations pause when the allowance is used up. You are responsible for having members' consent to receive confirmations.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Ghala for anything unlawful or to send unsolicited messages;
• attempt to access churches, districts or data you are not authorised to see;
• interfere with the service, probe its security or reverse-engineer it;
• resell access without written permission.

6. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Ghala available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change features, plans or prices; existing paid periods are honoured at the price paid.

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. You may stop using Ghala at any time and request an export of your church's data.

7. Liability

Ghala is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, the Ghala team is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and total liability for any claim is limited to the fees paid by your unit in the twelve months before the claim.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
